Marsh Dissonance<\/em> Toma\u017e Ber\u010di\u010d brings a stunning depiction of the Ljubljana marshes in February, where the dry remains of sunflowers stand like melancholic sentinels over the parched landscape. Ber\u010di\u010d masterfully uses the misty background, which creates a sense of timelessness and distance, while also emphasizing the graphic sharpness of the dry stems. There is a touch of melancholy and passing away in this minimalist composition. Ber\u010di\u010d's photography seeks beauty in the decaying and abandoned.<\/p>\n

The photograph evokes the sense of loneliness and silence that can be felt in the works of Slovenian photographer Stojan Kerbler, especially in his depictions of deserted landscapes, where the figure of man only quietly echoes in absence.
