V\u00a0Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 5 p.m<\/strong> we invite you to the premises of the Municipality of Kamnik for the opening of the photographer's exhibition Du\u0161an Letnar<\/strong>, which presents itself with a series of photographs of Mimono\u0161a.<\/h2>\n

Celebration of the solemn 50th anniversary of the Days of National Costumes and clothing
\nheritage will also be commemorated in the premises of the Municipality of Kamnik. Kamnik photographer
\nand member of Photo Club Kamnik, Du\u0161an Letnar, exhibits a series of black and white photographs
\nPassers by. The series was created in 2018, when we last watched it in Kamnik
\nparade of national costumes. Let's remember, in 2019, the weather, the year, was bad for us
\nlater, an epidemic prevented the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the festival.
\nThis is also why the exhibition has even greater significance today.<\/p>\n

Du\u0161an Letnar recorded the passing of the participants in his black and white photographs
\nand moments of carefreeness, joy and pride. He avoided being documented
\nclothes and focused on the emotions of the participants. Some participants
\nnoticed the photographer with a smile, others in passing remained loyal to the display
\ncostumes, others greeted friends in dynamic action or with a gesture. He took photos
\nfrom the same position, with a 50 mm lens, which brings the camera closest to the human
\nview. He established that distance that preserves authenticity in photographs
\nof the moment, but in the artistic sense it establishes a convincing author's poetics.
\nHe completed his artistic vision by developing photographic film and making enlargements
\nlarge format (60 x 90 centimeters). The series is therefore motivated and
\ntechnically a tribute to "time found again" and a new interpretation of tradition: ours
\nextraordinary clothing heritage and analog photographs.<\/p>\n

Du\u0161an Letnar (1952) devotes most of his time to analog photography. In focus
\nhis photographic interest in recent years is recording the industrial
\nheritage of the former Kamnik gunpowder store (for Kamfest 2020 he prepared a street
\nexhibition of photographs of Barutana) and the varied ethnographic heritage of the surrounding areas.
\nHe remains a faithful recorder of everyday life in Kamnik. In 2015
\nexhibited his series Pastirji Velika Planina in the Gallery of the Kamnik Cultural Center,
\nand in 2017, he presented the Nests series as part of the Petr Rauch Pavilion
\nin the Metelkova Museum of Contemporary Art in Ljubljana. With the Iva series, which has been around for years
\nIn 2018, he exhibited in the AQ gallery in Celje, researching social and living topics
\nintimate family environment. In 2020, it is in the Gallery of the Kamnik House of Culture
\npresented the ongoing series My Neighbors, in which he records everyday life
\nof its neighbors and the pulse of the suburbs of Kamnik. He exhibited his works at
\nin numerous group exhibitions and in 2014 and 2016 also participated in international ones
\nBiennale of contemporary photography Photonic Moments, and in 2017 at
\ngroup exhibition Repetition at Cirkulacija 2 gallery in Ljubljana. Since 2005
\nis a member of the Kamnik Photo Club.<\/p>\n
