Drevesa Kamnika is a documentary project of a collective of authors who want to objectively present individual trees from their local environment.

Members of the Kamnik Photo Club have been holding an outdoor exhibition in the city center for the tenth year, known as the Eye of Kamnik. This time they decided on a common concept, which also means a reduction of individual authorship. This time, the personal author's story and interpretation of each photographer is no longer important, but everyone works together to implement a common idea according to uniform technical guidelines. Their reasons for being interested in trees are different. Some see them primarily as important natural elements that enable us to survive and give us oxygen and food. Some trees are calming, as they provide shade, fruit, and connect us with nature. Some of them are interested in trees in unspoilt nature, others are more concerned with their integration into urban space, where trees can be a strong architectural element, either in an aesthetic sense or even as a building material. Trees are also the raw material for paper, which significantly contributed to progress, the development of knowledge and, last but not least, photography. Above all, they are living beings that live in their own rhythm, according to the pace of human life and development.

Contributing authors set out to document trees that are kind of solitary and stand alone. The method of photography was as objective, uniform, typological as possible and followed the principles of Becher's aesthetics. They are much more interested in the aesthetic compositions and "personality" of the portrayed trees than biological species. They also consider such an attitude the most respectful, as it represents a system in which the creative ego of the individual dissolves and the work begins exclusively for a larger community already in the idea and production phase, not only in the question of authorship. As always, the determinism of the final product is first outlined by (Flusser's) program of the apparatus, and then very precise collective instructions lead to a result where the work of each individual is erased and interchangeable. Unlike automated photography, portraiture for documents and photography for biological purposes, it is placed in the field of art primarily by the fact that it is a rather useless photograph for general purposes.
