Erik Rak – summer recap

You are cordially invited to the opening of the exhibition

The event will take place in the gallery of the Fotoklub Kamnik club, on Friday, September 26th at 7 p.m.

Erik Rak is a young photographer and an active member of the Kamnik Photo Club for some time. He first presented himself with a solo exhibition, Flashes Through the Window, and has also participated in several group club exhibitions, including Nasprotja, FKK OFF! and Pinhole.
His work is characterized by the exploration of different approaches and experimentation with visual contrasts. He is currently attending the VIST Faculty, where he is deepening his knowledge of photography. Summer recap is a photographic exhibition, designed as a triptych, which reveals the different faces of summer through three sections. It is a visual record of this year's vacation, where intimate moments, cultural experiences and the spontaneity of everyday life are intertwined.

The first part of the exhibition consists of images from a Croatian island where he spent his days living with friends. The photographs show more than just the coast and landscape – they pulsate with the rhythm of community, friendship and a slower pace of time.

The second part brings random stories and paths – from spontaneous stops to fleeting conversations and scenes that arise when there is no predetermined destination. These moments express the freedom and lightness that often make summer unforgettable.

The third part is dedicated to the Kamfest festival, which for a few days transforms everyday life in Kamnik into a space of creativity and socializing. The photographs highlight the atmosphere of the festival – from the stage lights to the audience's reactions – and reveal the energy that is born in the meeting of art and community.

The summer recap, like a triptych, combines three layers – community, coincidence, and culture – into a unified visual narrative that opens up space for personal associations and memories.
