A reflection of the past

After we arranged the club's darkroom, quite a few members became enthusiastic about analog photography, even those younger ones who entered the world of photography during the boom of digital photography. Therefore, the idea of an exhibition of photographs developed according to the classic black-and-white process seemed a logical upgrade and at the same time the best option for showing the work of the members in the darkroom. This is how the Reflections of the Past exhibition was created, which we are organizing for the second time this year. This time, the authors of the photos devoted themselves to photography with a simple device called a camera obscura, which was known already several centuries BC. It is a device that projects an image of the outside world onto the back wall. Of course, at that time only projection was possible, but with the development of photography, it was also possible to save the projected image on photographic film and paper.
At the exhibition, we can see individual photos, collages, and photos arranged in diptychs and triptychs. What they all have in common is that they use an old photography technique to capture subjects that in some way reflect the past. Some of them are well-known motifs, while others want to use their photos to express more personal stories or associations from their own past.

The opening of the exhibition with a reception will take place on Thursday, December 6, 2012. It will be possible to view the exhibition during the official hours of the Kamnik Cultural Center until mid-January.
