We invite you to the opening of the photography exhibition of Blaž Janežič on April 16, 2014 at 8 pm in the Kamnik House of Culture Gallery.
Blaž Janežič (member of Photo Club Kamnik) deals with Multilayers at his first solo photography exhibition. It exhibits two interconnected series, which have in common experimentation with photographic techniques and which are ultimately placed on the (hard to define) border between abstraction and reality.
The Family trips series presents a photographic visualization of memories and impressions from family trips. The uploading of many layers of photographs correlates with the functioning of memory, in which "recorded" impressions are stacked one over the other and thereby change, transform, or displace the previous ones.
Positive-negative highlights the photographic connection between two fundamental elements in photography and, together with the other building blocks, creates a collage of diverse images that allow the viewer many interpretations.
The whole motive, which arouses the author's interest, plays a secondary role, and comes to life only in harmony with the other elements of the picture, with which it is combined into an eclectic whole. The exhibited works offer the viewer the opportunity to peel away many layers. However, it is up to each individual how deep they will dig under the surface.
The exhibition can be viewed until May 5, 2014 during the official hours of the Kamnik House of Culture (Monday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from Tuesday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
