Coarse stamp

The Museum of Recent and Contemporary History of Slovenia opens its doors to an occasional exhibition entitled The Grained Seal of Janez Korošin. It puts on display selected photographic images from the beginning of the creation of the master of photography.

Already in the 60s of the 20th century, coarse-grained photography was already an established practice within the Ljubljana photography circle. In addition to the graininess, dark contrasts were also emphasized, i.e. black photography, the museum reminded. At the same time, they emphasized that Korošin was undoubtedly an exceptional master in both. "Despite the technical complexity, we can also see an attractive artistic element in his work," they explained.
