This year's season of photography exhibitions in the Gallery of Doma kulture Kamnik opens with the exhibition Images and Drawings of Jara Vogrič, which, using alternative photographic techniques and gestural painting intervention, establishes a relationship between photography and painting as a single medium.
The exhibited works consist of two series. The drawings consist of two triptychs, the first is an indexical print, reproduced in the photogram technique on photographic paper, in the second triptych, created in the combined technique of chemogram and photographic emulsion on canvas, the drawing is reflected as a unique record of a painter's gesture, which establishes an opposition between the unique and reproduction. In Images, in the technique of photogram and chemogram on photographic paper, self-portrait motifs in combination with collaged contact copies of selected objects and materials dominate.
The author, Jara Vogrič, 1984, after graduating from the High School for Design and Photography, studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, where she graduated with a diploma thesis entitled "The Use of Alternative Photographic Techniques in My Painting Practice". She works as an independent artist in the fields of painting, photography, video, and installation.
