The presentation entitled 'Approaches to thinking about photography' is a novelty in the activities of the Photo Club Kamnik, the purpose of which is to encourage reflection and discussion on conceptual issues of photography. This could be the basis for further discussion on conceptual dilemmas. It can remain just one of many small points of interest, or it can stimulate a more in-depth reflection for the further development of the club. We anticipate consideration of authors such as John Berger, Susan Sontag, Vilém Flusser, Roland Barthes, Thierry de Duve, etc. As a starting point, there will be a brief overview of the whole and a greater emphasis on John Berger. Some recommended prior reading texts are available online and some are available internally.
The presentation will be led by Rudi Kotnik on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 20:00 in the club premises.
